Parents Evening

Monday, November 21st, 2011

Dear parents,

WOW!

A quick letter to say a GREAT BIG thank you to you all for coming to Parents
Evening. It was another record turn out this year.

I’ve had a quick read through your parent questionnaire responses and they feel very positive indeed. As you know we are trying to make improvements to our lovely school and we have lots and lots to be proud of. However, we are honest and we don’t always get it right. There are some things you have raised about homework and bullying.

It’s Anti Bullying week next week and I would like you to invite you all to come and talk to me about your worries and how we could deal with bullying better.

I will write to you next week in more detail. I will tell you the highlights from the questionnaire and also about what we will do about the things you are not so pleased with.

In the meantime, I am sure you would like to join me in thanking the staff for all their hard work? We couldn’t do it without their hard work and your fantastic support… and our fantastic children, of course!

Yours sincerely
Mrs C Hindmarch

Parents Evening
Thank you to you all from another great turn out-our biggest ever. We had 137 parents which is fantastic. I know that some of you saw your child’s teacher at a different time or are still waiting to make an appointment-please do so!

Thank you also for taking the time to do the parent questionnaire as it gives us such useful information about what we do well and what we need to do more of in order to improve.

Please turn over to see what we are going to do to improve and what we do well at.

£ for the Pakistan Flood Appeal
Thank you for contributing to our non uniform day. We raised £104.30 and this has gone to DEC-the people who collect and send money on to disaster areas.

Yours sincerely

Diary dates and information

Dear Parents

It doesn’t seem a minute since we welcomed the children back in September! There’s lots to tell you:

  • School shuts for half term tomorrow 22nd October. It’s non uniform day to raise money for the victims of the floods in Pakistan. We would welcome a 50p donation.
  • We have a training day on Monday 1st November, so the children are back to school on Tuesday 2nd Nov
  • Parents Evening is on Wednesday 3rd November – let’s see if we can beat last year’s record turn out of parents. Please help by filling in the parent questionnaire that night. If you can’t make it, please speak to the class teacher and see if you could meet another time.
  • There’s 7 busy weeks up until Christmas. We finish on Friday 17th December at 1:30 p.m. We’ll let you know dates for concerts and parties very soon.
  • Mel has retired but we hope to have a new caretaker before too long.
  • We have welcomed Mrs Finch to work in Reception.
  • Most children are wearing the school uniform. I would like all children to come to school after half term wearing black shoes or boots. They will have had their school PE kit washed.
  • Lots of you have been invited to our Star of the Week assemblies and it’s been lovely to have you with us to help make the children feel proud and special
  • We’ve had some great support from you with our new behaviour policy. I know that you’ve
welcomed more contact with class teachers
  • 108 children have had 100% attendance during October. This is fantastic and we hope that more and more children will come to school every day and be on time. There’s too much going on here that they will miss otherwise! This includes: exciting topic work/help with reading/drumming days/theatre visitors/special assemblies/after school clubs

Yours sincerely
