I am writing to explain some important changes we are making to security at Parklands Primary School. These changes will take place from Thursday 28 January 2010.
As you know we take the security and safety of children, staff and visitors very seriously. Following an expensive upgrade to security and fire systems in the school, we are making the following improvements to school security:
- All visitors accessing the school must sign in and display a visitors badge.
- All staff and visitors must clearly display their name tag or visitors badge at all times.
- Children leaving school eg for appointments, must be signed out and signed back in if they come back during the day.
- Parents and visitors can no longer access the inside of school from outside KS1. They must walk round the outside of the building and sign in at the main school entrance.
- Parents who bring children to school late should get their late mark from Mrs Gandy or Miss Harrison. Staff will then take children down to class if necessary.
- Parents collecting children from after school clubs are asked to wait outside the building by the main office.
We hope that you will support the school with these changes and help improve safety in school.
